A 53-YEAR-OLD mother was found driving while under the influence on cocaine.

Odell Marie Turner, of Sutton St Nicholas, pleaded guilty to drug driving on July 8, in Shelwick Road, Munstone.

Adrian Jones, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates Court on Thursday, said that police on routine patrol saw Turner driving her Ford KA at 3.30am.

"They saw her cut sharply across Roman Road from College Road," said Mr Jones.

"Officers then followed the vehicle and caused it to stop in Munstone. Turner said she had been visiting her daughter and the road side drug test was positive for cocaine."

Turner had 53 micrograms of cocaine in her blood, the legal limit is 10.

She also pleaded guilty to breaching a two years suspended sentence imposed on September 2014 for burglary and the possession of heroin.

Marilena Divitantonio, mitigating, said that Turner believed she was pulled over because her back light was out rather than any driving issues.

"The suspended sentence was for burgling an empty dwelling with low value items left inside which she took." said Ms Divitantonio.

"She says she no longer uses heroin, she uses cocaine on a recreational basis and is not an addict. She has two dependant children and is the main carer for one of her children."

Magistrates ordered Turner to pay a £110 fine, £135 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

For breaching a suspended sentence she was also fined £50.

Turner was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
