A STUDENT band which has only been together for a year is set to play a concert in front of up to 350 people.

TechMetal band Nycosia consists of current and past students of Hereford College of Arts and formed last summer.

Tomorrow they will be playing their biggest concert to date when they support popular progressive metal band Monuments at the Globe in Cardiff.

Band members include Adam Barkley (vocals), Matt Ball (bass), Billy Kibble (guitar) and Noah Plant (drums).

Nycosia's manager Rose Kibble said that it is biggest concert the youngsters aged between 16 and 20 have ever played.

She said: "They can't believe it as they didn't start writing music until the August holidays last year before releasing their debut EP title “Pariah” in February.

"They are getting a huge reputation and every band they have supported has shown them huge respect.

"The band have played from Bristol to Bolton and Cardiff to Coventry, supporting bands such as Shields, Belial, Borders, Loathe,Carcer City and Slaughter To Prevail.

"They have gained a loyal following and get respect from every gig they play. Fitting gigs in around college work and writing new material is difficult but with this much passion they find the time

"Monuments are a huge tech-metal band on their last European tour for a while so to support them is a huge achievement.

"For a young band from Hereford it is massive and they are all either past or present members of the college. Their music certainly isn't the normal thing to come out of Hereford."

The band also released a single titled “Miscommunication” in January with a lyric video from Very Metal Art.
