WORK has begun on a new housing development set to bring more than 100 homes to Hereford.
Barratt Homes West Midlands has begun building 110 homes on Hampton Dene Road on a site that is to be called “Bishop Fields”.
The developer says the work will underpin around 220 jobs.
Site manager Darren Galbraith said, as well as building the new homes, the developer is also investing more than £600,000 in the local area, towards education, the road network and off-site open spaces.
Nicola Watton, sales manager, joined Mr Galbraith in officially marking the start of work with a sodcutting ceremony this week.
It is expected the first homes will be released for sale later this year.
