A TEENAGER who has taken the online world by storm with his homemade videos has now hit number one in the iTunes charts with a parody rap about school.

At just 16-years-old Jake Mitchell, from Hereford, has clinched the top spot in the UK iTunes comedy chart and 65 in the music chart with a video he shot at the Rotherwas Industrial Estate.

The video titled 'What We Wanna" has already been viewed over 87,000 times within a day on Youtube.

"It is a joke rap about school, said his father Rob Mitchell.

"We used the offices of the Wolverhampton University offices as the set and we had the camera crew from the Gadget Show filming.

"Jake wrote the lyrics and had well known music producer Randalph produce it."

Since starting his Youtube channel in June 2013 he has become an internet star with 403,000 subscribers while still studying for his GCSE exams at Bishops in Hereford.

His hobby of making videos has grown since the age of 11 when he used to film lego characters, before starting his own Youtube channel and uploading videos about his daily life twice a week.

However, his latest project was his first music video which was a family affair with his mum, dad, sister, girlfriend and both grandmothers appearing in the video- which Jake directed himself.

Mr Mitchell added: "He now wants to do more music videos as it has been greatly received and it's nice to see what a young person with a limited budget can do.

"He's still at school but when he finishes plans to be a full-time Youtuber. He has done work with an American online company in London and has been told with his video portfolio he could walk into any job he wanted.

"People send him fan mail which is just amazing and every time he tweets something between 500 and 1,000 people favourite it.

"He is just a natural at video making."
