POLICE are checking the speeds of drivers in a picturesque border town after a series of complaints by local residents about one particular driver.
Councillor Gareth Ratcliffe said that police were due to be carrying out speed checks in Hay-on-Wye and residents would also be clocking motorists with a community speed gun.
He said: "The driver in question was under a police order.
"People are saying they are not doing police interviews as he is not doing proper damage."
Councillor Richard Shackelford said that four people had approached him to complain about the same silver car driver
He added: "This driver nearly took out an elderly gentlemen by the chemist and we need to address this situation."
