POLICE are currently investigating what appears to have been a street fight in Credenhill near Hereford early this morning.

Two men were injured and are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not said to be life-theatening.

CID attended the scene in Station Road near Meadow Drive at about 2.30am and the road was closed for some hours.

The area has now been re-opened.

Inspector Helen Thomas of West Mercia Police told the Hereford Times police attended the scene after a public order incident was reported.

She confirmed two men were treated for their injuries in hospital and that an investigation is ongoing.

One resident told the Hereford Times he saw paramedics and police at the scene about 3.15am.

"There were lots of flashing lights -  several police cars and an ambulance,"he said.
