A VERY special guest looks set to grace the hallowed turf of Edgar Street on Saturday.
But the recruit isn't a new player who has joined Hereford FC on the eve of their debut Midland Football League.
The addition is in fact Champion Hereford Bull ‘Hawkesbury Ronaldo’ who will take part in a special lap of the pitch ahead of the league opener against Dunkirk (3pm).
The bull is part of the Henry Weston Bounds Poll Herd based at Much Marcle, near Ledbury.
Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale said: "We’re delighted to be able to continue the fantastic tradition of parading a Hereford Bull around the outside of the pitch ahead of big games.
“For Hereford FC, no game is bigger than our very first competitive match, and I’d like to thank Henry Weston stockman Tom Manns, his team and everyone at Henry Westons for their help in making sure that this tradition can continue.”
The club is asking all supporters to "offer the respect that such a fine specimen warrants" as he makes his way around the pitch.
The parade is subject to final confirmation from Herefordshire Council.
