HAY-ON-WYE is celebrating again after being chosen to trial a UN Gold Star Community Scheme.
The border town, still nursing a pleasant hangover following their recent twinning success with Timbuktu, will take part in the pilot scheme later this year.
The aim of the project is to develop links between communities and organisations in Wales and sub-saharan Africa - a theme familiar to Hay following their Timbuktu initiative.
Four key areas include the commitment to fair trade, child friendly policies, sustainable development and social cohesion.
Set-up in conjunction with the UN and the Welsh Assembly, each project will receive £5000 in funding.
