STYLE, excitement and muscular grace are the trademarks of the BalletBoyz, who are performing for a second night at The Courtyard tonight with their new show, theTALENT, an exceptional treat for the city.

The show features two new commissions from leading British choreographers: The Murmuring, by Alexander Whitley, and Mesmerics, by Christopher Wheeldon.

The Murmuring takes its inspiration from stunning murmurations of starlings and finds the all-male cast of dancers wheeling across the stage in ever-changing formations, breaking apart as they, temporarily, escape the essential nature which dictates their inextricable union. A driving, pulsing score by electronic duo Raime provides the perfect counterpoint to an impressively stylish and muscular work.

The second piece in the double bill, which plays a second night at The Courtyard today, is Christopher Wheeldon's Mesmerics, a work of breathtaking musicality and beauty - there's not a shape created by the dancers that isn't exquisite - and it truly lives up to is name - mesmerising. But what was a revelation for someone with no dance vocabulary, just a knowledge of what we like and don't like, was Wheeldon saying in a filmed introduction that there was 'no plot' - without the nagging need to decode a narrative, we were released to do no more than marvel at the elegance of the dance and the wit of the choreography, swept along on a wave of dazzling dance.
