LEOMINSTER'S disbanded town band have helped other local music groups hit the right note after donating almost £2,000 to them.
The town's brass band was formed by Pauline Davies in 2011, with generous donations from a local businessman and instruments donated by local man, Dennis Wright, whose dream it was to revive the 1960s British Legion Band.
Mrs Davies said it was disbanded 12 months ago after it was unable to recruit certain players but was very popular, playing at concerts and fetes.
The band's remaining funds, almost £2,000, was split four ways and has now been donated to the Leominster's Priory Church to help towards the tuning of its Steinway piano, as well as Tenbury band, Ledbury band and St John's band.
