Last week, the Hereford Times broke the news that Dilwyn Parish Council had been cited for ‘serious failings’ in its governance and procedures over the purchase of a village pub as a community hub.
We asked readers who took part in this week’s online poll, at herefordtimes.com, whether they thought parish councils needed more guidance before taking on assets and responsibilities.
A total of 196 people took part with a majority of 75 per cent saying parish councils do need more support and guidance.
However, 17 per cent said they did not. A further three per cent said they did not know while the remaining six per cent said they did not care.
