PUPILS at a village school have been told how to ensure water is not wasted.

Welsh Water visited Bosbury Primary School as part of a campaign to help schools become more water efficient.

The whole school spent the day doing water based activities, starting with an assembly looking at the water cycle and where the water in our taps comes from.

“The sponsored water carry and walk enabled children to have a growing empathy for other children around the planet,” said Maggie Spence, the school’s headteacher.

“Our school is small but the children ask ‘big’ questions and this day successfully got children thinking deeply about global issues.”

Phil Thomas, representative from Aqualogic, conducted a water audit of the school to determine whether the school is eligible for water saving devices.

“Education is key in reducing water consumption as well as helping schools with their water usage,” he added.

“The message passed on with the project will educate future generations into conserving our most precious commodity.”
