A LEOMINSTER girl raised more than £300 for the charity that supported her dad after having her long locks cut off .

Nikita Howells, 11, braved the hairdresser's chair to help Midlands Air Ambulance after the charity helped her dad, Keith Howells, when he broke his spine last year.

She also donated the seven inches of her hair to Hereford’s Little Princess Trust, which will go to make wigs for children who have lost their own hair

through illness.

Nikita's mum, Stacey Howells, said: "We are so very proud of Nikita on what she has done for a wonderful cause.

"Nikita decided to cut her hair off in aid of a fantastic charity because they helped her father when he broke his spine in three places back last year. "Nikita would like to thank everyone who has sponsored her, Anika Wildings hair salon and for all the donations."
