ORGANISERS of the Yarkhill Field to Fork food festival are delighted to confirm that the event is a definite date for the diary - taking place this year on Saturday, June 6.

Held for the first time last year, the festival is organised by a group of volunteers from Yarkhill to celebrate and raise awareness of the county's vast array of locally produced food and drink, whilst also supporting local charities and community projects.

With 20 producers from Herefordshire already signed up and sponsorship support confirmed from Brightwells and Freshfields Fruit, the Yarkhill Field to Fork Festival looks set to repeat last year's success, when it raised more than £1,500 for The Haven Breast Cancer Support Centre and a further £1,100 for local community projects. This year the organisers have chosen Martha Trust - a local charity that transforms the lives of people with profound disabilities - to benefit from the money raised.

Aiming to engage and educate consumers on the provenance of food, the importance of buying local and growing and production methods, there will be various activities taking place throughout the day, such as cooking demonstrations, meet the producers, competitions, children's activities, live music and tasting opportunities.

Producers interested in taking part should email yarkhillfieldtoforkfestival@gmail.com or visit yarkhillfieldtofork.co.uk for more information and booking forms.
