GLASBURY Arts offers would-be young writers, nine years old and up, the unmissable opportunity to join author Jenny Valentine and illustrator Aine Venables to help create a picture book.

Jenny and Aine are great friends - Jenny writes children's books and Aine is an Illustrator. Together they want to make a picture book but they need help to create the characters, write the story and draw the pictures - all you need to bring is your imagination...and maybe your great friend too!

Jenny is Glasbury’s bestselling children’s author, winner of the Guardian Prize for Children’s Fiction for her first novel, Finding Violet Park. Since then Jenny has published Broken Soup, The Ant Colony and The Double Life of Cassiel Roadnight. Aine is a graphic designer who works in an inventive and playful way to create contemporary mixed media prints, with a strong narrative element exploring ideas of location, identity and belonging.

The 'come and help us create a picture book' workshop for children 9+ is on Saturday, February 21 at Glasbury Village Hall. To book, call the box office on 07583 544110, visit glasburyarts.co.uk, or buy in person at Old Forest Arts, The Craft Centre, Hay-on-Wye.
