POLICE say it will be several weeks before a resolution is reached over the “tragic family circumstances” that saw a mother and daughter suffer serious stab wounds at their Hereford home.
Both women are said to be recovering at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with detectives hopeful of interviewing the mother next week.
Detective Inspector Richard Rees, of Herefordshire CID, said it would be several weeks before decisions could be taken over case.
“These are tragic family circumstances,” he said.
Police and ambulance crews responded to a 999 call from the address in Kempton Avenue, Bobblestock, just after midday on Tuesday.
As yet, it is not confirmed which of the women made the call.
Inside the house police officers found Jane James, believed to be in her 50s, downstairs with stab wounds described as life threatening to her head and neck.
Upstairs officers found her 30-year-old daughter Naomi, also with a series of serious stab wounds.
