PAPERS which had been set alight were pushed through a letterbox in Bromyard in an attempted arson attack.
Police were called to an address on Awbrey Way at around 4.10pm on Monday following reports of a vehicle fire and lighted papers being pushed through a letter box.
No-one was injured but there was significant damage to the vehicle and minor damage to the front door of the property.
Detective Constable, Charlotte Wells, said: "This was a frightening incident for the occupants of the house but thankfully they did not come to any harm.
"We are very keen to speak to anyone who has information about this fire, or why this property may have been targeted."
Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area should call police on 101.
