A SELFLESS schoolgirl volunteered a week of her time to swim the length of the English Channel for charity.
India Parkman, a student at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls, endured a gruelling week of swimming around three miles a day to cover a total of 22 miles for Sue Ryder Care.
The 17-year-old, from Ledbury, raised roughly £600 through her Channel challenge, which will contribute towards her Duke of Edinburgh award.
She said: “It feels amazing to have done something for such a worthwhile cause - Sue Ryder Care is a fantastic charity that supports people living with life-limiting and long-term conditions.”
