A New Boxing Day Tradition?

First published in News

A New Boxing Day tradition could start this year, to mark the centenary anniversary of the outbreak of World War One.

The town's War Memorial Working Party is considering organising a Boxing Day football match on the Recreation Ground.

The ground is a dedicated war memorial site, in memory of local people who did not return from the Great War.

But the town council is to first look into the state of the pitch, and to consider providing new goal posts.

A well-established Boxing Day tradition in Ledbury is the gathering of the Ledbury Hunt in the High Street, outside the Feathers Hotel.
