A MUSIC festival this weekend will raise funds for the hospital that cared for a Leominster boy who was seriously injured in a collision last year.

Freddie Saunders has been receiving treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital intensive care unit since the collision last October, and his family and friends now hope to raise as much money as possible to say thanks.

The Baron's Cross Charity Music Festival takes place on Saturday (July 12) between 2pm and 12am on the field next to Morrison's Garage.

It features bands Tin Soldiers, Perfect Strangers, Avenue 9, Soul Supply, Hot Climate and the Floyd Earl Band.

There will also be bouncy castles, face painting, a raffle, Sunshine Radio, a lion dance and other entertainment.

Tickets cost £18 and can be bought from Barons Cross Garage, by calling 01568 612707 or on the gate subject to availability.

Entry is free for under 13s.

- It is also the halfway point for Louise Phillips, 45, in her "14 in 14 for Freddie" challenge.

With seven races down, race eight takes place on Sunday and Mrs Phillips will take on the 26.2-mile Wales marathon.

All money raised by Mrs Phillips will be put towards a sensory playroom for Freddie.
