AT a recent meeting of Ross Rotary Club, president Janet Bastock had the honour and great pleasure of inducting two new members into the club.
Although both new members are farmers they operate in two very different spheres. Denise Beken breeds dressage horses and runs a heard of Aberdeen Angus cattle. Frank Powell is an arable farmer and keen golfer. Frank also has a family connection to the founding of Ross Rotary club. His grandfather, John Rowberry, was both a founder member of the club and provider of annual bursary award to a local engineering apprentice which continues through to today.
As president, Janet went through the five principles of Rotary, presented Denise and Frank with their rotary badges and welcomed them both into the club. Both Denise and Frank expressed their delight at becoming members and are keen support the the club in its aims and activities
Ross Rotary Club meets every Monday evening 6.30pm for 7pm at the Chase Hotel. Guests and potential members are very welcome. Please visit the website at www.rossrotary.com.
