THE Lion at Leintwardine held a successful charity event recently. The annual Lionstock weekend raised £3,696.
10 for Leintwardine Youth group and £1,750 for St Michael's Hospice. The event was a two-day festival held in the large garden of The Lion alongside the River Teme in Leintwardine.
The event was well attended by people from Leintwardine, Knighton, Presteigne, Bucknell, Ludlow and many other local towns and villages. The festival-goers listened to lots of local bands and musicians playing throughout the weekend. There was also a good selection of food and drinks.
On the Sunday afternoon it was the family part of the festival with a bouncy castle. The event was organised and run by the owners William and Jane Watkins, Lion manager Jessica Long, helped by the rest of the staff, members and leaders of Leintwardine Youth group and others.
The pub's owner William Watkins thanked all the sponsors and everyone who helped to make the event a great success.
