MORE than £15,000 has been raised for a Hereford aid charity thanks to a radio appeal.

Concern Universal's Radio 4 appeal, presented by comedian and actor Marcus Brigstocke, highlighted the way lives in poverty-stricken countries can be transformed with the use of a Flower Pot Stoves.

These provide an efficient and more environmentally friendly method of cooking and heating.

The appeal has so far raised £15,978.
