THE "Big Society" could be seen in action last week when volunteers helped clear a footpath to two of the city's popular heritage attractions.
Staff and associates of the Bulmer Foundation were joined by other volunteers to help clear the path from Hunderton Bridge towards the Waterworks Museum.
The tarmac path had been covered in mud – almost a foot thick in some places – with overhanging vegetation.
The Friends of Herefordshire Museums and Arts have been advocating the use of the paths to walk between the heritage attractions to the west of Hereford – such as the Cider Museum and the Waterworks Museum.
Both are accessible by footpaths from the city's Old Bridge.
