SINGERS at a Leominster primary school have 'wowed' judges in a competition during their last year as an independent choir.
Led by Hilary Lyon and supported by James Grant and Paula Barker, the youngsters from Leominster Infant School won the Dorothy Owen Cup at the Herefordshire Performing Arts Festival at the Courtyard Theatre last week.
It is the last year that the pupils will sing as part of their own school choir, with Leominster's Infant and Junior Schools set to amalgamate this autumn.
The youngsters performed two songs – a hymn and contemporary song – to showcase their talents and both were marked with "distinction" scores by adjudicators.
