POLICE have this morning arrested two people in Herefordshire in connection to a mult-million pound drug smuggling operation.
The men, who are both in their 50s, were arrested in Hom Green and Broad Street in Ross-on-Wye on suspicion of conspiracy to import Class A and B drugs.
Another eight people were arrested today across the West Midlands and The Netherlands to bring the total to 19 since the police investigation started in November 2012.
Drugs with a street value of £10 million have so far been seized by officers. This figure includes the discovery of £4 million worth of drugs in Newent, Gloucestershire, last July.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Loader said: “While we have seized approximately £10million worth of Class A and B drugs, we think it is only the tip of an iceberg."
