Music in New Radnor presents a concert of baroque music for oboe, bassoon and harpsichord by The Denner Ensemble on Saturday, February 8.
Mary Tolhurst, speaking for MiNR says: "The Denner Ensemble has a reputation for uplifting and energetic performances and we are thrilled that an ensemble of this calibre is coming to play for us. Their new CD is called The Profound, The Sublime and The Frivolous, and we are hoping for all of these at the concert. ’
The concert will include works by well-known baroque composers such as Handel, Arne and Purcell, as well as music by Europe's greatest oboist Sammartini, and his English pupil and successor, Thomas Vincent.
The Denner Ensemble has earned much praise for uplifting and energetic historically informed period performances. Mark Baigent, Nathaniel Harrison and Karen Glen are highly experienced chamber, solo and orchestral musicians regularly working in the UK's leading period instrument groups including the English Baroque Soloists, the Sixteen, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the King's Consort.
Tickets available on the door. They can also be reserved by calling 01544 350268
