THE Royal British Legion is working to bring Bromyard its first outdoor memorial garden.
The branch has taken over management of the 25ft by 5ft area at the front of the Bromyard Centre on Cruxwell Street where it plans to erect a memorial stone in memory of war dead and also plant flowers.
Peder Nielsen, the chairman of the Bromyard branch, said a lot of people have asked for an outdoor gathering on Remembrance Sunday.
He said: "We currently have a service in St Peter's Church but I think having a gathering outside would draw more attention and hopefully get more people involved. It will be a nice focal point of the town."
Plans will now go to Herefordshire Council for approval.
