Midlands Air Ambulance holds Christmas party for youngsters
4:21pm Monday 23rd December 2013 in News
ELEVEN youngsters were treated to a Christmas party by Midlands Air Ambulance to recognise their bravery and courage following accidents.
Ten-time Paralympian gold medallist Lee Pearson, who is an ambassador for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, gave a talk at the party at the service's Strensham airbase, while there was an animal display and a visit from Father Christmas himself.
“On average, we airlift a child every four days, often in a life or death situation, and it’s remarkable to see how brave they are, which is why we wanted to recognise them by giving them a fun-filled party at our airbase," said Julian Spiers, paramedic and air crew supervisor for Midlands Air Ambulance.
“It’s very rewarding for us as aircrew to meet former patients again, so the party was also very special for everyone at the service.”
