LEOMINSTER residents who are disturbed by a “deep noise” at night are invited to attend a public meeting.
The Hereford Times reported in April how a number of residents claim they have been losing sleep over a nuisance noise in the town.
Councillor Peter Ellis said: “This problem has been going on for some years now with little sign of a solution. Some people find it difficult to sleep when this low-pitched drone or hum is particularly loud. It is about time that the source was confirmed and steps taken to reduce it.
“Since June, some of the group have been maintaining a log of the sound. We think we know where it comes from but it is particularly difficult to locate the source of low frequency noise.
"During the daytime, the hum can be masked by traffic noise but at night it becomes particularly irritating as it goes on and on.”
The meeting will take place at 7.30pm on November 6 at the Town Council Offices on West Street, Leominster.
Anyone who is bothered by the noise should attend the meeting or contact coun Ellis.
