HEREFORD’S nightclubs have a busy Bank Holiday weekend in store to entertain revellers.

Jungle and drum and bass DJ/producer Aphrodite will be performing at the Jailhouse tomorrow (Friday) night.

The artist, also known as A Zone or DJ Aphro, has largely contributed to and influenced the genre’s current styles and techniques.

He is behind Aphrodite Recordings, which was inspired by a club he ran in 1988 called Aphrodite.

His debut album was a self-titled effort released in September 2000, while the follow-up, Aftershock, came out two years later. The song King of the Beats was featured in the video games Rollcage and SSX Tricky.

A funk, soul and Motown night, featuring Reggae Pie, will be held at the club on Saturday night, while an 80s and 90s night will take place on Sunday.

Lovers of the Mario Kart and Street Fighter computer games will also be able to re-live their youth on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) on the same night.

Sunday also sees the Naughty but Nice 20th anniversary celebrations take place at Saxtys, while Wet Cherry and the Delinquents will be playing at AJs and Chris Roberts and DJ Unknown will be entertaining people at Play until 4am.
