TWO 6,000 year old ‘halls of the dead’ within burial mounds have been unearthed in Herefordshire - the first found in the UK.
Archaeologists from the University of Manchester and Herefordshire Council discovered the two large halls, each buried within a prehistoric burial mound and thought to have been constructed between 4,000 and 3,600 BC, on Dorstone Hill, near Peterchurch.
