A HEREFORD school choir is celebrating after winning first place in an international musical competition – for the second year running.
The Cathedral School’s Cantabile Girls’ Choir competed at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in the senior children’s choir category, where they were defending their 2012 title.
Up against 27 rival choirs from across the globe, they sang two songs before they heard comments from the five judges and were then announced the winning choir with 90.7 points.
To add to the success, Jo Williamson, musical director of Cantabile, won the award for best musical director out of 55 choirs competing in three different competitions.
