HEREFORDSHIRE Council has signed up to a care service offering people advice on support options.

My Care My Home offers free, face-to- face advice through home visits to help people find suitable home care providers, or other care schemes.

There is also help on how to adapt an existing home to meet care requirements and assist people in the selling of their houses.

Jeremy Nixey, chief executive of My Care My Home, said: “We’re delighted that we can now offer this service to the people of Herefordshire.

“My Care My Home will guide people through the maze that is finding out what care they need, how they can fund it and help answer all the important questions.”

The service is supported by the Care Quality Commission which provides data.

Through the partnership, Herefordshire Council can refer individuals to the scheme who have savings or assets over the value of £23,250, although the service is also open to individuals who wish to use it directly.
