KINGTON were given a hard battle in the KBS League at Knighton before emerging winners by a 4-0 margin.
The visitors took 10 minutes to get into their stride but then took the lead when player-of-the-match Sarah Betterton flicked the ball over the Knighton goalkeeper.
Jules Pudge then converted a penalty corner to put Kington in control at the interval.
Knighton defended well but failed with an opportunity to get back into the game when visiting keeper Lisa Hughes saved a penalty flick.
And the home side were made to pay when captain Jenny Layton slotted home the third Kington goal and Betterton rounded things off with her second from a penalty corner on the stroke of full-time.
