ASPIRING writers at a school in Hereford were treated to a visit by a local author last week.
Leslie Heywood visited Marlbrook Primary School as part of National Children's Book Week, which encourages youngsters to read and get the most from books.
Year 4 pupils spent the morning listening to extracts from Mr Heywood's latest book Last of the Mirror Birds and picking up tips on how to write their own stories.
The children will also act as critics and send their reviews and suggest ideas for the sequel to Mr Heywood and, in return, he will provide them with feedback on their own stories.
