MOTORISTS in Hereford will be off to a quick start to get their MOTs with cutting-edge technology at a garage in the city.
Nick's Motor Engineering at Unit 4, Aydon Industrial Park, has installed a new MOT bay which is a one-man operation. The Automated Track Lane (ATL) uses bluetooth connection for testing vehicles in the Class 4 range - up to eight passenger vehicles.
The system uses shaker plates incorporated into the ramp to check bearings and a brake tester which is fully computerised and can also be used for 4x4 vehicles.
Owner Nick Pritchard said: "This is the first ATL system in Hereford. It is a fairly new system and there still aren't many places in the country which use it."
As well as enabling one person rather than two to carry out an MOT, Nick hopes the new system will also be more precise.
