FILM SOCIETY - Presteigne Film Society is showing Margin Calls (15) starring Jeremy Irons, Kevin Spacey and Demi Moore tomorrow (Friday) at the Assembly Rooms from 8pm. MUSIC - Back by popular demand after their appearance at Sheep Music, the folk band Spiro is performing at the Assembly Rooms on January 19 from 8pm. Tickets are £10 and can be purchased by calling 267163.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT - An evening of unaccompanied harmonies and readings with The Village Quire raised £40 for funds recently.

The energetic Zumbathon and afternoon tea raised £125 and Pat’s concert at the Memorial Hall raised £497.10. Thanks go to everyone who helped or supported these events. Community Support has a new website, so visit pncs.org.uk and see what it’s all about. At last year’s AGM it was decided there would be four newsletters per year with a contribution cost of £5 for all four newsletters. MUSIC - Kate Thomas and Dave Luke are The Flok and will be appearing at the Royal Oak on January 25 from 9pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

BEAVERS’ PARTY - The 1st Presteigne Beavers held their Christmas party during their last session before Christmas. The children had an unexpected visit from Father Christmas, and received presents. They enjoyed lots of party food, games and singing.
