ONE Britain’s finest comedians and broadcasters, Marcus Brigstocke's talent was noticed early on in his career in 1996 when he won the BBC New Comedian Award at the Edinburgh Festival. He is now regarded as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, performing stand up nationally to sell out audiences around the UK and globally at international comedy festivals, and he will be on stage at The Courtyard on Monday, November 28 with his show, Why The Long Face?

BBC Radio 4 has become something of a second home to Marcus with regular appearances on The Now Show and Just A Minute, and he has notched up an impressive list of TV credits including, among many others, team captain on Argumental (Dave) and as host of BBC4’s The Late Edition and I’ve Never Seen Star Wars.

Marcus’s shows always end with a bang, and “Why the Long Face?” will be no exception. But the comedian is reluctant to spoil the surprise of it. “I can’t say what the ending will be, but it’s something that I’m both enormously excited about and enormously ashamed of. People will not be disappointed. Afterwards, they will have an image that they won’t be able to get out of their heads, no matter what!”

“Dazzling, inspired, perfectly observed. I’ve yet to see anything funnier” - Daily Telegraph
