THE new production from Shropshire-based Pentabus Theatre Company, This Land, explores what happens when a family faces the threat of a fracking company setting up metres from their house. The play hurtles through thousands of years of history, exploring the layers of lives lived on one patch of land - everything that has happened there and what is to come.
How far down do you own the land beneath your feet, how much does where you live inform the person you become and what happens when someone else comes along and stakes their claim? For young couple Bea and Joseph this is a story of fractured hearts, lives and lands.
The play, written by Sian Owen, is directed by Jo Newman, who says: "It is a real privilege to be working with Pentabus on this project. SIan Owen's writing is beautiful and it has been such a joy to work with her on this. The subject matter is incredibly important tome and the play will be touring to places where the prospect of fracking is a reality."
This Land will be at The Market Theatre in Ledbury on Friday, March 18. To book, call the box office on 07967 517125 or visit themarkettheatre.com
