ONE of the country's biggest rappers is to perform at a Hereford nightclub next week.

Ms Dynamite, who is former Mercury Prize winner and holder of two BRIT Awards, will be taking to the stage at the Jailhouse next Friday (April 11).

The 32-year-old was one of the biggest names in rap during the early 2000's, with hits such as as It Takes More and Dy-na-mi-tee.

She won the Mercury Music Prize in 2002 for her album A Little Deeper and also performed at the closing ceremony at that year's Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

Ms Dynamite later took to the stage at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park in 2005 before releasing album Judgement Days.

However, a conviction for assaulting a police officer in 2006, in which she had to do 60 hours' of community work, as well as being fined £750, meant that she disappeared from the public eye.

But an appearance on ITV cookery show Hell's Kitchen in 2009 and the release of Katy B's Lights On, which Ms Dynamite featured on, propelled her back into the limelight.

She also features on DJ Fresh's hit song Dippy Dippy Sound, which was released last year.
