THE Lion Ballroom in Leominster presents a concert on Sunday, September 25, featuring the flute and harp duo of Sarah Newbold and Katherine Thomas, who will be joined by Martin Outram, violist from the celebrated Maggini Quartet, to bring a mixed programme of music from the 18th century to the present day.

The programme includes the première of an arrangement of an early Mozart string quartet and a work based on themes from Mozart's Magic Flute, both by acclaimed Malvern-resident composer and arranger Derek Smith; two major works for this combination, Debussy's Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp and the Bax Elegiac Trio; and pieces by Paganini and Ibert. All three musicians have flourishing individual careers and play with a real affinity when they come together as an ensemble.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 3pm, are available from Leominster Tourist Information Centre, 01568 616460.
