TWO contrasting nights of live acoustic music in the bar at Knighton Community Centre kick off tomorrow with Aberystwyth-based folk trio Brenig, who offer traditional and contemporary songs from the heart of Wales, as well as tunes composed by band member Daniel Laws. Tracks from the band's first CD collection, The Caron Trail, will feature. The show is supported by the Welsh Arts Council's Night Out scheme.
On Sunday, April 10, the bar will host a night of Southern US song-duets and fiddle, guitar, mandolin and banjo tunes, courtesy of husband and wife duo Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones. "The couple both honour old-time music and find their own distinctive place within it.....This is very much Marshall & Jones, not to be mistaken for anyone or anything else," said one reviewer of a recent CD release.
