THE Britten Singers are starting rehearsals for their spring concert in April.
Following last year's celebration of 40 years singing with director and founder, Pamela White, and having recently contributed to the 'Light up a Life' service in aid of St Michael's Hospice in the cathedral, Pamela has chosen a programme of mainly French music for the choir.
The programme will include rarely heard pieces by Debussy, Saint-Saens, Villette as well as some music by Finzi and local composer John Frith. The main work in the programme will be the beautiful Requiem by Duruflé with organ accompaniment. The concert will take place on Saturday, April 23 in Holy Trinity church. For further information about The Britten Singers, please call Pamela White on 01432 356757.
