THE first performance of a new setting of Veni Veni Emmanuel by local composer Adrian Williams will be given by St Richard's School, Bredenbury on Friday, December 4.
Williams has a successful career in music for film and television as well as a catalogue of classical works, which are widely performed. The choir at St Richard's has sung a number of his works, which are popular with the children for their melody and accessibility. Recent music scholars from St Richard's to major schools include Williams's son (Uppingham). During the last two years full music scholarships have also been awarded to Malvern College, King's Worcester, and Hereford Cathedral School on a variety of instruments.
The carol concert takes place tomorrow at 6.30pm at St Bartholomew's Church in Much Marcle.
