RAPTOR, a young band from Leominster, take the stage at The Victory on Saturday, November 28 with support acts Bekki Cameron and Bren Haze.
Raptor are led by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Fletcher and his brother Adam on drums. Influenced by their father’s record collection, which included The Rolling Stones, Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Frank Zappa among others, the brothers took to playing rock classics from an early age.
“My parents bought me a cheap electric fender for Christmas when I was nine," says Kurt. "Adam started off playing bass when he was seven but then took up the drums and we haven’t looked back”
John Hales from Porkbelly Promotions who is organizing the gig said “We are extremely lucky in Herefordshire to have so many up and coming talented young musicians and I am very happy that Raptor agreed to take a break from their studies to come and play.”
Kurt is currently studying music at Bristol University and Adam has just finished his second year studying music at Hereford Technical College
Raptor have played all over the UK, including festivals over the summer, but, says Kurt: “We are looking forward to playing in our home town and seeing some familiar faces. Playing to a home crowd keeps you humble, playing further afield keeps you hungry”.
The evening starts at 8pm at The Victory in Hereford with local singer songwriter Bekki Cameron, followed by Bren Haze. Raptor will finish the evening with a full set of rock classics. Tickets available on the door.
