DANISH à cappella group The Vocal Company comprises 20 passionate singers from Copenhagen renowned for adding a Nordic feel to groovy beats and enthralling vocal harmonies.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Danish women’s right to vote, Vocal Company performs a selection of songs written by outstanding female artists, songs that tell tales of destruction as well as creation, of letting go and holding on, of disappearing for a while and returning to life, maybe just a little wiser. What they don’t say is that they’re vocally sharp as knives, hilarious and jaw-droppingly soulful by turn and great people to share an evening with in downtown Colwall on Friday, November 6.

They'll be joined for a pyrotechnic double-bill by A Fistful of Spookies, the residue left behind when The Spooky Men’s Chorale retreated to Australia after their sell-out 2013 UK tour. Like a tide-mark in the enamel bath of song, this collection of UK Spooks are still keeping the flame of Spookiness alive in Britain, still bothering the locals, still looking for the plughole to Oz. Coming together from all corners of the country, they will reprise classics from the Spooky canon of testosterone-fuelled tunes and tomfoolery.

The Vocal Company and A Fistful of Spookies can be seen at Colwall Village Hall on Friday, November 6 at 8pm. To book, go to wegottickets.com
