BLUES legends BabaJack are back for another foot-stomping show at Broome Farm.

With two British Blues Awards, a coveted slot in Classic Rock’s “Top Ten Albums of the Year” list and numerous European tours under their belt, the band are returning to Ross-on-Wye to take this year’s Blues in the Barn by storm.

Hope Support Services’ Herefordshire Youth Management Team (Y-Team) are once again organising and hosting the event, after their efforts last year led to a spectacular turnout and raised more than £1,000.

Support comes from Bristol-based roots and blues singer-songwriter Jack Cookson, fresh from the release of his debut self-penned album Revolt & Resolve earlier this year. His signature folk vocals accompanied by a guitar and a harmonica have seen him land gigs across the South West and beyond, sharing the stage with a host of renowned Americana troubadours.

Also performing is up and coming local young band Ramshackle, formed in July 2014 by five John Kyrle High School friends.

Despite the band members now studying at different universities, Ramshackle’s popularity has soared and newly composed blues/rock material has had the gig and festival offers flooding in.

“We had really positive feedback from the audience last year – not only about BabaJack, but the other acts too,” said Y-Team Events Officer Dean Powles. “The money raised helped our Y-Team funds, and has been put into trips, one-to-one support and even a food hygiene course for our young people who are going through a family health crisis right here in Herefordshire. We really wanted to bring something back to our community.”

The Broome Farm barn will open its doors on Friday, June 12 from 7pm. Tickets available from ticketsource.co.uk/hopesupport.
