THE prestigious Dragonfly String Trio will be performing music by Schubert Ravel, Mozart and Dohnanyi in the perfect acoustic of St Michael's church in Michaelchurch Escley on Saturday, March 7.

Violinist Marcia Crayford, who has appeared as soloist and guest leader with orchestras all over the world, played at the proms as a soloist when she was still at the Yehudi Menuhin School, and was leader of the famous Nash Ensemble for many years. Susie Meszaros was principal viola of the renowned Salzburg Camerata and now plays viola in the Chilingarian Quartet; and cellist Moray Welsh, who studied in Moscow with the great Rostropovitch, is an international soloist and chamber musician. He was also principal cellist in the London Symphony Orchestra for 25 years.

Schubert’s String Trio in B flat major is followed by Ravel’s amazing Duo for violin and cello. The second half will see Mozart’s Duo in G major for violin and viola and Dohnányi’s Serenade in C major, full of Hungarian folk tunes and rhythms and ending with a riotous polka, brings the concert to a close.
