FOLLOWING a busy summer Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra are hitting the road again in support of their second album Talk About The Weather, released to much acclaim earlier this year.

An intensive touring schedule since the release of their widely praised 2012 debut Money Isn’t Everything, as well as a diverse array of radio appearances, including BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, Jazz FM and Amazing Radio among many, has emphatically established the band as one of the most entertaining and hard working bands on the UK roots circuit. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra play their own brand of Western swing, blues, Gypsy jazz and country, or “North Eastern Swing” as they've memorably coined it

On Talk About The Weather Rob Heron’s songwriting is even more engaging, quirkily satirical, the band’s ever impressive musicianship yet more refined.

The subject matter explored in their songs is a key part of the band’s identity, encompassing such disparate topics as the Great British weather (hence the title), coffee, the proposed HS2 rail network, arcade gambling, rogue landlords and kitchen utensils.

Catch Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra on Thursday, December 4 in the Coronation Hall, Kingsland, on Saturday, December 6 in Whitbourne Churcha Hall, and on Sunday, December 7 in Putley Parish Hall. All at 8pm. Tickets available on the door at all venues.
